January Review

January was a busy month for us. Collen is now a senior at Taylor University and January saw him leave for Egypt! This is his primary interest in history was able to go to Egypt for just about 3 weeks and have the experience of his life. Even if he goes back it will never be like his first time. We were able to stay in contact with him almost every day so that made it wonderful and helped calm my nerves. There was a 7 hour time difference and he would talk to me on messenger in the mornings as I was getting ready for work and he was back at the hotel getting ready for supper. We had lots of snow this year! victor started a new job for Carey services and unfortunately he is responsible for the snow removal. I think he spent every Sunday at work removing snow. Nathanael got married 4 years ago and him and his wife Allison are now living in Wisconsin with her grandmother so they can help take care of her. they did come home for a week over Christmas, but I am ready to see them again. I've been working on a cross stitch called The Hobbit for Collen and it is going so slowly. I started another cross stitch to give to nanny called kitty seasons. I did make some quilted coasters and I love them!

Snowy Monday

It has been a long time since I have been here! Much has changed in our lives! I will attempt to catch everyone up as time goes on. It snowed about 7 inches on Saturday and this morning we had freezing fog. It was so pretty on the tree's. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures.

Monday July 12th

Had a good day for a monday. Things actually weren't a complete mess at work, which is unbelievable after i was gone for 2 days. Jasper must have hurt his back again. He didn't want to go outside this morning, just laid in his cage and rolled over. Now tonight when Collen tried to play with him he yelped out loud. I hope he can heal without having to have cortizone again. I've learned that having a teenage son who is responsible and able to drive is a wonderful thing! I gave Nathanael my debit card and a grocery list and he went to the store for me today. It is funny the things he buys compared to what I would buy. But he is being a frugal shopper. That is one way we have saved money these last few weeks, is I'm not buying so much food to make the boys lunches for school. I just wonder how the two of them will like their new schools food. Guess only time will tell. I worked some on the cross stitch quilt tonight for my grandma. I am hoping to get it done for her for Christmas. That is one less thing I will have to buy.

Sunday July 11th 2010

I have been away for a long time. Decided this morning while I was taking a nice hot bath that it was time to start writing again. This summer has been a hot one and too short! The boys will be going back to school in a month, 4 short weeks. Nathanael has been practicing soccer 3 days aweek for several weeks now and starting tomorrow it will be 4 days with 2 adays. They run in the morning and practice in the evening. Part of this is to get them ready for a tournament in Ohio at the end of this month. Collen had soccer camp this last week and had fun as usual. The highlight of the camp was when the president of the local club wanted him to come play with them this spring. I need to email her. Collen is not to gungho about playing for them. When he played several years ago it left a nasty taste in his mouth. As for me and my journey, I completed a twin size afghan for Collen this month and I am now working on a cross stitch quilt for my grandma hopefully for a christmas present. I cleaned yesterday and the house looks so nice. Today is the final game for the world cup. I am hoping we get to watch it. Nathanael wants to go to Kokomo beach today, but he is still in bed. We'll see how that goes.

4/18/09

nathanael had his first soccer game today with marion lightning U18 team. It was a gorgous sunny day! We club passed 3 players from the U17 team and one of them was Cortland. It was nice for the 2 of them to play together again. I am managaing the team again this year, and it has taken some learning with the new programs. We ended up losing the game 1-2 but Nathanael played an awesome game and of course got hurt. He got his feet knocked out from under him and landed on his shoulder and rolled across the ground. After the game he rode home with Nanny and victor and I went to the mall for him a haircut and I ran into joan fabrics to find some lavender paint. Then Nathanael went to the movies with a bunch of kids. We could hear the frogs singing so I had to take Collen out to hear them.

3/27/2009

This has been spring break week. Tuesday the 24th we went to the children's museum in Indy. It was me, nanny, collen, nathanael and collen's friend ethan. They had a star wars exhibit and a humongous lego exhibit. After we left there we went to the soccer store and got Nathanael cleats. Then we went to look for a hobby lobby and found another soccer store. Nathanael and I went in there and ended up buying a another pair of cleats, then turned around and took the first one's back. Then we found hobby lobby, ate at country buffett and headed home. I had to worked Wednesday and then we had a mandatory meeting at Bridgewater. I didn't get home until around 9pm. I worked Thursday and Friday. Nathanael had soccer practice on thursday. Collen spent the afternoon and evening with me.

3/22/09

I had to work again today. It was a good day at work. Collen and Nanny went to the cemetary in Fairmount looking for somebody for geneology. They stopped at Chrissy's grave. The afternoon was beautiful, in the low 60's. I talked to Deb Cain about Ethan going to the children's museum with us on tuesday and she said he'd be ready at 9a for us to pick him up. Collen is so excited! The boys spent the evening outside playing soccer until supper. Nanny made fried chicken and gravy. Yummmm! I got to quilt some this afternoon and I pressed more material for Nathanael's quilt. I got 5 blocks done today.
